Tissue mill slated for Snowflake According to a local report, Trinity Enterprises plans a 350- ton/day tissue mill for Snowflake, AZ. The DIP plant, tissue machine and a converting plant would form the core of the operation, Three companies will be involved: CR3 will deal with recycling and energy; Aztec Pulp and Paper LLC; Western Tissue Products which will manufacture the product. Phase one costs are put at about $235 million, says the report, and start-up could be in the first half of 2007 but the time frame was not confirmed by a Trinity spokesman. Navajo county officials have approved an agreement with Trinity for the project which will benefit from a $1.2-million economic development incentive having a 20-year payback period. The proposed mill site is next to the Abitibi-Consolidated Inc. mill already in Snowflake. Successful completion of the project will bring to seven the number of tissue mills in the southwest US. |
