Reliance® V*S Master Inverter Duty AC Motor Offers Class B Rise, TEFC, in Cast Iron Frame

The Reliance V*S Master Inverter Duty motor is a totally enclosed, fan-cooled (TEFC) motor designed specifically for operation from an inverter. The V*S Master provides continuous rated torque down to zero speed in a rugged NEMA all-cast-iron frame.

Available from 2 to 500 HP, the TEFC V*S Master motor provides a class B rise over the normal operating 4:1 speed range (450 to 1800 rpm), and less than a class F rise at zero speed with full rated torque. The cooler operating class B rise results in longer lasting insulation systems and bearings.

V*S Master motors are available in standard NEMA frame sizes for all horsepower ratings and base speeds. The Reliance XT (extra tough) and IEEE 841XL features, well known to the pulp and paper industry, are available as standard modifications. Every V*S Master motor has three thermostats and provisions for adding a feedback encoder. Plus, the insulation system is designed specifically for PWM power and exceeds NEMA MG1-2003, Part 31 for inverter-fed motors.

A standard feature on every large horsepower rating (440T frames) is an opposite drive-end insulated bearing to reduce the possibility of shaft currents. Insulated bearings, as well as all the other modifications that Reliance has supplied for years to the pulp and paper industry, are available on all V*S Master ratings.

Reliance V*S Master motors are built in Athens, Georgia, USA, and provide the pulp and paper mills an Inverter Duty TEFC motor with the performance of a blower-cooled motor.
