Portable platform makes reel handling a one-man operation

Roll-A-Reel Company, Cincinnati, OH, offers its Style A for efficient pay-out and take-up of cable, wire, rope or anything stored on reels. The unit accommodates reels up to 28 in. wide and is load rated per CEMA standards at 1500 pounds.

The Style A Roll-A-Reel is 
a structural steel platform, 31-1/2 in. wide x 28 in. deep, equipped with a permanently mounted heavy-duty ball bearing roller assembly at the front and an adjustable roller assembly at the rear. The rear roller can be adjusted without tools to any of six positions to accommodate reels of various diameters. The front roller has a positive spring-loaded lock that facilitates reel loading and unloading.

A built-in steel ramp permits one man to load the reel safely with minimum effort and without lifting equipment or jacks. As an added safety factor, the reel is never more than four inches from the floor. The platform is readily stored and is pre-drilled for bolt-down installation if desired.

Options for the Style A Roll-A-Reel include auxiliary ball bearing side rollers to eliminate wedging and control “walking.” The platform is pre-drilled for fast installation of the side rollers. The Style A Roll-A-Reel is shipped from stock, completely assembled and ready for use. PI
