Tiger LS404 all-wheel drive log stacker for millyards Tiger Forest Products, Bellevue, WA, has designed a new all-wheel drive log stacker for millyards where traction is a potential problem. The Tiger LS404 all-wheel drive log stacker provides an alternative to the LS400, which drives via the rear wheels. Whereas the LS400 features an outstanding turning radius (ideal for millyards where space is at a premium), the LS404 provides for additional traction in millyards with characteristics such as undulating terrain, frequent snow or ice, wet slippery and muddy surfaces, loose gravel and stones or soft and powdery material. By driving both the front and rear wheels, traction is improved immensely, especially when carrying a full load. Power is taken from the power shift transmission – fitted with an inter-axle differential – mounted in the power module. A three-piece drive shaft, supported by heavy duty bearings, leads below a protective transmission tunnel to the differential, which is mounted within the front chassis box section.
