TAPPI names Montague president

Larry N. Montague is TAPPI’s new president, effective October 2, 2006. The former vice-president, sales and marketing for The Newark Group is charged with providing vision and direction for TAPPI’s headquarters staff and its
volunteer leaders from the pulp, paper and converting industries.

“We believe that Mr. Montague has the experience and passion needed to re-energize TAPPI … ,” commented Dr. Ron Yeske, chairman of the search committee. TAPPI’s board of directors unanimously approved the appointment.

Montague started his 25-year career in the pulp and paper industry with Boise Cascade Corp., moved to Republic Group Inc. and then joined The Newark Group. www.tappi.org.
