IBS VarioFix dewatering blade is readily movable, yet fixed in place

VarioFix™ from IBS Paper Performance Group is an innovation which uses a T-bar for easy installation of dewatering blades: The blade can be simply slid on or off when required. The special mechanism guarantees fixing and a precise foil angle when operating.

IBS says that until now there were only two choices for installing dewatering blades in a paper machine’s wet end — either the conventional T-bar slide-on or the dove-tail clamp-on method, both having their advantages and disadvantages.

IBS says it has combined the benefits of both systems with VarioFix. It utilizes a T-bar that allows for easy installation or removal of the dewatering blade at any time. In addition, a special mechanism locks the blade with the T-bar, ensuring rigid positioning of the blade, thus eliminating any vibrations.

Advantages of VarioFix include:

  • blade readily installable/removable, yet fixed
  • solidly in place when operating;
  • trouble-free blade replacement with wire on;
  • exact blade positioning without vibration or blade movement;
  • precise foil angles achievable, independent of machine parameters.
