The ESCO Membrane Removal Head available from ESCO Tool, Holliston, MA, is designed to fit five different MILLHOG welding end-prep tools that cover a tube range from 7/8 to 3 in. OD for removing membrane and the overlay (cladding) from the tube’s outer surface. Featuring proprietary Golf “T” inserts for assembling the head, which make 360° contact with the holder, as the head rotates the holding forces of the inserts are multiplied which minimizes vibration, reduces heat and maximizes their life.

Eliminating screws and head breakage, the inserts are easy to install and remove without wrenches. The head comes in two styles: one to remove membrane only and another which also removes the overlay. Both can be fitted with a blade to bevel the tube simultaneously.
