Austria-based Andritz has an order from Sofidel SpA to supply a PrimeDry ReEvaporation system. Sofidel, in Porcari, Italy, is one of the largest tissue producers in Europe, focusing on toilet paper, napkins and disposable tablecloths. System start-up is scheduled for mid-2010.

The ReEvaporation system uses the waste heat from paper production and feeds it back to the production process. The heated condensate is recirculated to the Yankee drying cylinder as steam. Steam savings of up to about 30% can be achieved, says Andritz. The Sofidel system has a steam-saving capacity of 1600 kg/h. www.andritz.com.
