IBS SI-CARBIDE Extreme is tough, has high thermal shock resistance

The IBS Paper Performance Group, Austria, says that in modern former technology the ceramic dewatering elements are subjected to extreme loads. This requires a material that can withstand these demands. IBS now offers its SI-CARBIDE ExtremeTM, a new ceramic designed especially for abrasive conditions and fastest machine speeds.

The improvements compared to the IBS SI-CARBIDE are: over 20% greater strength and fracture toughness; 30% higher thermal shock resistance; a 35% improvement in surface quality. IBS says these attributes contribute to efficient paper production along with low maintenance.

IBS SI-CARBIDE Extreme's increased mechanical strength minimizes the risk of developing cracks. The material is extremely wear resistant and smooth, which will help to reduce operating costs, says the company.

Other advantages of IBS SI-CARBIDE Extreme are: highest wear-resistant ceramic; highest geometric consistency; longer wire life; optimal behavior in extreme situations; marginal stand-still periods; minimal maintenance costs.
