IMI dectector warns of bearing impacts

The patented Model 682A05 bearing fault detector from Depew, NY-based IMI Sensor division of PCB Piezotronics (PCB®) uses a true peak picking mechanism that is ultra sensitive to impacts in bearings, and thus gives early warning of typical bearing problems. This type of warning is not generally provided by traditional over-all vibration level monitoring techniques, says IMI.

The DIN rail mounted unit accepts an industry standard ICP® accelerometer input. Outputs are a 4-20 mA signal proportional to the peak acceleration and a second 4-20 mA signal proportional to over-all velocity. It also provides the raw vibration signal for detailed analysis. The 24-volt power supply allows use of line power and easy set-up.
