Rolland launches Enviro100 Digital
Saint-Jérôme, QC-based Cascades Fine paper Group has added Digital to its Rolland Enviro100 family. The paper, specially designed for digital printing, is available in various formats and basis weights as required for ondemand printing projects. Digital is made from 100% post-consumer fiber, and like other members of this family, it is certified EcoLogo, Processed Chlorine Free and FSC Recycled. The paper is also made using biogas energy from decomposing waste at the nearby Waste Management landfill. Tested using liquid and dry toner on digital printers, Rolland Enviro100 Digital is ideal for the fast-paced, demanding world of short run printers, says the company. Cascades also said it now packages its reams of copy paper in wrappers that are 100% recycled and recyclable. Traditionally, ream wrapper is made with virgin paper with a plastic layer that acts as a humidity barrier. Cascades new wrapper provides the same protection and is produced using 100% recycled fiber. The new packaging can be recycled with regular office paper which reduces waste going to landfill. The old plastic coating is a contaminant that significantly complicates recycling. The new wrapper is printed with biodegradable inks and has reduced ink coverage. |
