Technidyne PROFILE/Plus Tensile module Technidyne Corp., New Albany, IN, has introduced the PROFILE/Plus Tensile module which will automatically, cut, test and report data for machine direction (MD) and cross-machine direction (CD) tensile on a given sample. The module can be used as a stand-alone piece of equipment or easily added to an existing PROFILE/ Plus automated testing system. In either case, the integrated paper advance system can measure single sheets of paper or complete CD or MD sample strips from the paper machine. The PROFILE/Plus Tensile module measures the samples quickly without the tedious sample preparation required by manual tensile tests. Technidyne says it
is the only supplier of automated lab testing equipment to the paper
industry with a cost-effective, modular approach to automation. PI

The module is expected to hit the market later this year, says Technidyne. More than 30
PROFILE/Plus systems have been installed worldwide since its introduction in
2000. Technidyne’s PROFILE/Plus offerings include brightness, color,
opacity, gloss, roughness, porosity, grammage, thickness, tensile strength
alignment and burst. Technidyne says it is the only supplier of automated
