Moyno pumps meet mill needs
Springfield, OH-based Moyno, Inc. offers several pump types designed to meet the needs of the pulp and paper industry. The Moyno® 1000 close-coupled positive displacement pump is designed for use where space is at a premium in a variety of services including shear sensitive chemical feeds, adhesives, lime, polymer metering, slurries and viscous crude oil transfer applications. The pin-type universal joint is sealed and lubricated, providing long life with minimum maintenance. Standard flange and open-throat hopper models are also available. The twopiece drive shaft allows easy assembly, maintenance and mechanical seal access. The configuration eliminates the need for complete pump disassembly when servicing the mechanical seal, says the company. Other features include low shear pumping action, smooth, non-pulsating flow at rates from 0.38 to 320 gpm at pressures to 350 psi. The Moyno 2000 progressing cavity pump handles a wide range of paper coating formulations providing a low-shear, metered, non-pulsating flow for surface uniformity and coating integrity. The 2000 pump utilizes proprietary Moyno Ultra-Technology® for maximum durability, enhanced performance and long service life, even in pumping abrasive materials in excess of 80% solids. A variety of models is available in several construction materials with many different options, allowing customization to specific needs. The Moyno 2000 Pump also offers reduced energy consumption when compared to other pump types, high-pressure capabilities to overcome line blockages, low internal velocities to prevent shearing and to protect coating rheology, one rotating pumping element with no metal-to-metal contact. Moyno says its 2000 pump can also be used for efficient, cost-effective handling of mill wastewater. Benefits include low maintenance, minimal downtime and long life.
