Fluoron cover offers long life

Fluoron, Inc., Elkton, MD, has patented a new kind of heat-shrinkable roll cover. Tradenamed Fluoro-Wear™ 102, the covers last an average 4-10 times longer than the average “non-stick” heat-shrinkable roll cover, says the company. Fluoro-Wear 102 has been installed on the longest roll in the world.

Fluoro-Wear’s advantage lies in carbon reinforcement. While other heat-shrinkable roll covers may provide comparable release characteristics, only Fluoro-Wear 102 can provide the durability to tackle the industry’s toughest problems, says Fluoron. Fluoro-Wear 102 can be used on bowed rolls, felt rolls, lead in and lead out rolls.

Fluoro-Wear 102 covers are available in any diameter and length; each cover is custom manufactured to fit a machine. The cover can be installed by mill technicians in a roll shop or next to the paper machine in a nearby aisle. If desired, Fluoron can supply an experienced technician to install the cover, providing a guaranteed installation covered under warranty
