John Williams takes over the Domtar Corp. CEO post as of Jan. I 2009. He succeeds Raymond Royer who will retire. Williams was formerly the Brussels, Belgium-based president of SCA Packaging Europe. He will be based in Montreal.

Williams is a 1976 graduate of Kings College, London University (BA (Hons) English Literature). His previous experience includes increasingly senior management experience with companies in the packaging and related industries including Huhtamaki (CEO - Polarcup), Rexam plc (sector director, specialty food packaging); SCA Packaging Ltd.
