Voith Paper Environmental Solutions has developed the Aquatyx R2S reactor to solve the problem of scaling in water effluent treatment. Design features such as the inflow mode in the reaction zone, internal flow streaming and systemic dwell zones allow the removal of lime sludge and pellets deactivated by scaling to be removed during operation. By preventing deposits, the R2S flow path ensures uniform processing over the entire reactor cross-section, says Voith. Even with very low effluent input, hydraulic up-flow is adequate.
