Dow Corning launches process aid for chemical pulping

Midland, TX-based Dow Corning Corp. has introduced a new process aid for chemical pulping — Dow Corning AF-7500 PulpAid Concentrate.

The high solids emulsion is formulated from advanced silicone antifoam compound technologies and complies with FDA and BfR indirect food contact recommendations.

The silicone antifoam concentrate is designed for easy dilution with either tap water or demineralized water, along with a small amount of an antimicrobial agent, to produce stable, lower-solids emulsions.

The simple mixing with dilution water eliminates the need for extensive product scale-up time and the need for costly production equipment, says Dow Corning.

In addition to antifoam concentrates, emulsions and compounds, Dow Corning offers other proven pulp and paper solutions. In addition to materials, the company provides services tailored to the specific business needs of the global pulp and paper industry. PI
