Andritz to supply Chile’s CMPC Celulosa

The Andritz Group has a large order for CMPC Celulose SA, Chile. The turn-key EPC order’s value is about $400 million and
includes:

A complete fiberline rated for 2405 adt/d, a complete 2520-t/d dewatering, drying and bale finishing line, a chemical recovery
boiler featuring Vertical Air™ technology with a capacity of 3800 tds/d, a white liquor production facility with a capacity of 8100 m3/d of white liquor and 600 t/d of burnt lime.

Andritz also opened a sales and project management office in Santiago and a service office in Concepción.

Also in South America, Andritz is supplying the fiberline  and white liquor plant for the Veracel greenfield kraft pulp mill in Brazil.

A review of sales in North America shows Andritz has in  the last year filled orders for a wide range of equipment. Included are portal and circular cranes from Slocan-LP Corp and Weyerhaeuser, the latter also ordering tree-length de-barking lines at two mills. There were  also: a Lo-Solids® cooking upgrade for a confidential digester project; four multi-stage DD washers for a mill in the Southeast US; a digester upgrade at MeadWestvaco in Wickliffe, KY.

Weyerhaeuser ordered a 2860-tds/d high-efficiency recovery  boiler for Valliant, OK to replace a 1970s vintage boiler. Emission reduction is a goal. The company also ordered a retrofit of the RB at the Springfield, OR, mill. In Canada, Irving took delivery of the first Lime Mud Dryer (LMD™) kiln sold in the country. The recaust plant is also being upgraded. Reduced emissions, less solid waste and higher capacity are expected.

Sappi ordered the first LMDFilter™ in North America for the Skowhegan, ME, mill. Capacity will be 770-t/d of lime mud filtering capacity. www.andritz.com. PI
