Andritz to supply Chile’s CMPC Celulosa
The Andritz Group has a large order for CMPC
Celulose SA, Chile. The turn-key EPC order’s value is about $400 million and A complete fiberline rated for 2405 adt/d, a
complete 2520-t/d dewatering, drying and bale finishing line, a chemical
recovery Andritz also opened a sales and project management office in Santiago and a service office in Concepción. Also in South America, Andritz is supplying the fiberline and white liquor plant for the Veracel greenfield kraft pulp mill in Brazil. A review of sales in North America shows Andritz has in the last year filled orders for a wide range of equipment. Included are portal and circular cranes from Slocan-LP Corp and Weyerhaeuser, the latter also ordering tree-length de-barking lines at two mills. There were also: a Lo-Solids® cooking upgrade for a confidential digester project; four multi-stage DD washers for a mill in the Southeast US; a digester upgrade at MeadWestvaco in Wickliffe, KY. Weyerhaeuser ordered a 2860-tds/d high-efficiency recovery boiler for Valliant, OK to replace a 1970s vintage boiler. Emission reduction is a goal. The company also ordered a retrofit of the RB at the Springfield, OR, mill. In Canada, Irving took delivery of the first Lime Mud Dryer (LMD™) kiln sold in the country. The recaust plant is also being upgraded. Reduced emissions, less solid waste and higher capacity are expected. Sappi ordered the first LMDFilter™ in North America for the Skowhegan, ME, mill. Capacity will be 770-t/d of lime mud filtering capacity. www.andritz.com. PI |
